The main purpose of maintenance is to ensure the availability of the system. For process weighing systems, when the scale fails, the company cannot continue production during the system failure and also needs to replace or repair the damaged part, which takes longer and costs more (and associated labor costs) . The way to do this is to keep your scales from ever failing to avoid losses caused by unexpected system failures.
The regular maintenance of the scale includes: scale body, load cell, junction box, wiring cable, control part and other parts.
●Scale body
※ Observe whether the scale body is deformed or corroded, so as not to affect the structural strength and life of the scale.
※ Observe whether the scale body bracket is deformed or corroded, so as not to affect the structural strength and life of the scale.
※ Observe whether the scale body is level. After the scale body has been used for a period of time, the sensors or accessories may be worn and deformed to a certain extent. If the deformation of each sensor and accessories is not uniform, it will cause the tilt of the scale body, resulting in angular difference.
※ Whether there is dirt on or around the scale body, and whether there is agglomeration in the scale body.
※ Whether the feeding and discharging mechanism on the scale body is not smooth, whether there is material leakage in the feeding and discharging valves, etc.
※ Whether there is agglomeration or blockage in the upper and lower soft connections of the scale body, and whether the connection structure is affected by other external forces.
※ Whether the dust removal device on the scale body is blocked or not smooth.
※ If the scale body has a limit, check whether the limit gap is reasonable, and the limit bolt should not collide with the scale body.
※ Check the pressure of the air source and whether the pneumatic three components are normal.
※ For scales used outdoors, if there are drainage facilities, check whether the drainage facilities are unimpeded.
●Sensor and junction box
※ Whether there is any dirt and rust at the stress point of the sensor.
※ Whether the fastening screws of the sensor or accessories are loose or deformed.
※ Whether the sensor ground wire and return cable are loose or rusted.
※ Whether the sensor cable is damaged, squeezed or broken.
※Whether the waterproof joint of the cable entering and leaving the junction box is loose, whether the cable connection is loose, and whether the junction box is damp, especially when the junction box is used outdoors.
●Instrument and control box
※ Check whether the scale is accurate (calibration scale), especially if a multi-sensor scale is used (more than 3 sensors).
※ Check the wiring terminals of the instrument for looseness, dirt, agglomeration, and moisture.
※ Check whether the instrument power supply is normal.
※ Check whether the cable from the junction box to the instrument is damaged, squeezed or broken.
※ Check whether the communication cable from the instrument to the computer or PLC is damaged, squeezed or broken.
※ Check whether the ground wire and ground point of the instrument are in good condition.
※ The control box should be regularly dusted, especially in places with relatively large dust.
